This Hewlett Packard bubble jet printer is a surprisingly sturdy and robust item. It is a later revision of the one originally put with the TestBook. This variation was the first that supported colour printing through a different 3 in one cartridge to the traditional high capacity black.
It has a number of benefits over other printers which make it extra suitable for use as an accessory to a vehicle diagnostic system.
- This printer is virtually unique in the respect that, in a small compartment located at the bottom of the printer, you can clip in a rechargeable NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery. This battery type is quite common and is shared with a number of camcorders and is therefore also widely available from third party vendors. The battery charges itself automatically whenever the printer is connected to a power source and when disconnected the battery will then run the printer for over 100 sheets worth of printing. The battery is not included.
- Exact power requirements are 10.6 Volts through an industry standard wired 2.1mm DC socket centre pin type negative. Normally this would be supplied through an optional mains power supply, however the voltage requirements are close enough to 12 Volts to enable them to be run directly from a car battery/cigarette lighter socket. Leads to accomplish this task are included.
- Remarkably compact, even with the fold out 30 sheet feeder attached (Included).
It should be noted that these printers are used and may have small damage or cosmetic marks. There is no warranty with them, mains power adaptors or connection leads, however, they are all tested immediately before dispatch to ensure that they print. They may well need cleaning internally or externally, servicing and may or may not have a functional ink cartridge installed.
