The main element of all of our Vehicle Server based diagnostic systems are the Vehicle server software modules. Residing on the Vehicle server itself, there is one software module for each vehicle system covered by our equipment. The license that allows each module to run, can be purchased separately, although in the case of the later CAN Bus based Vehicles, one License allows multiple modules to run. These Software modules are accessed and controlled by the Vehicle Explorer software running on the PC connected to the Vehicle server and are used as communications interpreters to each vehicle systems main Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to obtain Fault codes and convert them to plain text, clear fault code memories, read and modify settings and configuration data, obtain live (real time) information about all the sensor values, force outputs to be driven and a plethora of other tasks such as Learning Keys/fobs/plips, security and odometer resynchronization, sensor calibration and initiating Built in self test routines.
These software module licenses are Multi Vehicle (MV), which means that once licensed, a software module will provide its diagnostic capabilities to its intended and named vehicle system, regardless of vehicle make, model or year. This is distinctly different from our Single Vehicle (SV) software licenses, which are listed on the Single Vehicle software price list, where although the same software modules are used, the Vehicle server is set to run in SV mode, which cause the Software modules to lock themselves to a specific vehicle by VIN and authenticate the vehicle each time they are used.
